For May or June trips in higher elevations, participants should not bring cotton clothing.
Pants,
underwear, shirts and socks should be 100% synthetic or wool. In addition, fleece
pants
or thick polyester long johns are especially important. Paddle rafter must have full
wet suits, or at the least wet suit bottoms, plus rain jacket or kayak jacket. Paddle
rafters would also be advised to wear wet suit booties.


CLOTHING
____Swimming shorts (2-3) nylon running-type shorts with liners work best and dry quickly.
____T-shirts or tank tops (2-3)
____Raft tennis shoes (will be wet all the time) or river sandals, or wet suit booties
____Wide brimmed hat for sun or cap
____Wind breaker jacket(rain gear below is a good substitute)
____Full hooded rain gear including pants, or hooded poncho
____Long pants (1 pair is usually adequate)
____Socks, one pair for every two days
____Underwear
____Long sleeve shirt (1-2)
____Shoes (light weight walking or jogging type best for in-camp wear or hiking)
____Wool sweater or medium weight jacket--may need both-depends on season
____Light gloves and sock hat (nice for cool mornings even in summer at high elevations)
____Water ski type wet suit only for especially cold trips on cold rivers
____Fleece pants for cold, drizzly trips

DAY USE: Put into a waterproof container i.e. ammo can accessible while floating
____Sun Tan lotion, at least SPF 6, plus sunscreen type of lip protection.
____Sunglasses with safety cord, remember your regular glasses should have a safety cord
____Water bottle with cord for tying to raft
____Family Radio Service "FRS" Walkie-Talkie
____Snacks
____Watch
____Whistle
____Emergency toilet paper, in zip lock bag. Group TP will be available in camp
____Matches and fire starter i.e. wax cubes

PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS:
____Knife, a folding type in sheath is best (Leatherman is good)

____Towel and Washcloth
____Biodegradable Soap/Shampoo (Campsuds is a good brand)

____Misc. Deodorant, lotion, makeup, contact cases and solution etc.

____Small first aid kit, the group first aid kit will also be available

CAMPING GEAR:
